COLORS

ICD can make or match virtually any color – there’s over 26,000 colors in our library!

With growing color customization options from the framing industry, the need to get that “perfect” color of harmonized or color-pop spandrel continues to grow. One of the areas where ICD High Performance Coatings is best known is providing exceptional color matching – that includes bright reds and yellows that designers over the years have been told can’t be done.

ICD can match any color fan deck chip from any paint or color system manufacturer. We carry most of the below fandecks at ICD, which makes color matching quick and simple. We've been known to match clothing, interior design fabrics, exterior facade components, and other items. These one-of-a-kind color matches require the item to be mailed to ICD for in-person matching. We will ship back the reference item with the coated glass sample for your review. We currently have a database of 26,000+ color matches completed over 35 years and mix new colors every day.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our color numbers are specific to colors formulated by us. Any other number, from another paint manufacturer for example, will not tell us what our exact formula is. In fact, it won’t tell us anything at all. Often, we have color matched other paints such as ceramic enamel, and we may have a cross reference to our number from their system. If not, we will have to rematch that color in our system and with a sample to match from. It is very important to note that the name of the color, Sky Blue for example, will not tell us anything as well. Some colors may have the same name. Colors will never have the same ICD color number. This is why the number matters more than the cute name we came up with.

No, unfortunately. There are times when a color name may be used twice or more. What matters is our color number which will have a format like one of these:
• X-XXX "Color Name"
• X-XXXX “Color Name”
• XXX-XX-XXX "Color Name"
• XXX-XXXXXX "Color Name"

Not at all! It is very hard to represent all the 26,000+ custom color matches we have done over 35 years on our website. Give us a call or email and we will look your color number up in our database and ship you a coated glass sample immediately. 1.360.546.2286 or icd@icdcoatings.com

There are several reasons why your sample my not be as you expected:

  1. Did you tell us the correct glass substrate to match on? Color will vary by different glass types, even clear glass.
  2. Did you pick your color from a computer monitor? If so, we took that information and used the actual paint chip to match your color. One monitor to the next could be wildly off in color if not color calibrated.
  3. Did you pick your color from our website? If you did, as in point two, monitors are extremely unreliable for color and that is why we ask you review a coated glass sample in-person, as this is how the finished product would appear in the project. We’re happy to adjust the color to more of what you want. Contact us to make this request.
