ICD High Performance Coatings + Chemistries recently conducted internal tests upon hand-applied and FuseCube™ applied Diamon-Fusion® protective glass coating over the top of OPACI-COAT-300® coated glass. ICD used modified versions of ASTM C794 and C1087 – Standard Test Method for Adhesion-in-Peel of Elastomeric Joint Sealants to determine peak force and cohesive failure of the sealant, and Standard Test Method for Determining Compatibility of Liquid-Applied Sealants with Accessories Used in Structural Glazing Systems to determine changes in color or adhesion.
Test results* display compatibility and now both ICD and Diamon-Fusion® encourage protective coating considerations for all OPACI-COAT-300® back-painted glass applications.
*The tests conducted were not solicited for the purpose of providing performance data or a statement of fitness for any specific project or use. For any project, total design performance and suitability of all specified glazing components must be considered.
